ReturnHauler first communicated with Randon Implementos with a view to establishing synergies in 2013.
Randon is South America’s leading trailer manufacturer with over 300 000 trailers built to date in plants in Brazil, South America.
It was good to finally meet with two key members of the Randon team at the ATS plant in Cape Town 16 June 2016.
ReturnHauler to date has been granted patents on six continents including South America, where ReturnHauler identified four South American countries in 2009 as potential ReturnHauler markets : Chile, Brazil, Peru and Ecuador.
Chile accounts for approx. a third of the world’s copper production and boasts the world’s single biggest copper mine.
Chile produces eight times more copper than a country like Zambia and five times more copper than the Democratic Republic of Congo.
Peru is not far behind Chile as the world’s third largest copper producer after Chile and China.
Randon confirmed that Chile was one of Randon’s biggest single markets and believed ReturnHauler units may well have an application in the mining operations of Chile.
Randon would be discussing the ReturnHauler design with their representatives in Chile with a view to gauging interest for the ReturnHauler trailer design : to haul bulk liquids (chemicals; lubricants; acids, water, diesel) to mines * and production down the mountains to ports and refineries.
*many of South America’s copper mines are 3 000 – 4 000 metres above sea level.
